UKIP must believe Ukrainian elections were free and fair
2nd December 2004
The United Kingdom Independence Party has voted against a resolution in the European Parliament supporting the Ukrainian people and calling for free and fair elections.
Speaking in the Ukraine, where he is representing the European Parliament as an election monitor, Charles Tannock MEP, Conservative Foreign Affairs Spokesman, said:
"UKIP has shown a deep lack of respect for the people of the Ukraine by voting against this resolution.
They must think that the recent elections were free and fair, and untainted by interference.
They must be the only ones who do."
